How to read Instagram analytics
If you have upgraded to an Instagram business account you will see that it comes with free Instagram analytics. I recently started and upgraded the askFASTnow Instagram account to a business account (www.instagram.com/askfastnow). Once the upgrade is done you will have access all kinds of analytics.
You will see Insights from the start but in order to qualify to get demographics reports you need to have at least 100 followers. I did a quick run down below when I hit 100 followers on Instagram. If you have not upgraded to a business account simply do it now if you wish (see more at How to upgrade your Instagram account to a business account).
What are the stats about
These stats show your weekly and monthly statistics for your Instagram business account. They also give you a little more analysis about who is viewing your content. See below for the breakdown.
Your Insights are broken up into impressions, reach, profile views, and click to your website.
Impressions is the amount of times that your posts have been viewed that week. Reach indicates the number of unique accounts that have viewed any of your posts. Profile views is the number of times that your profile was viewed. Website Clicks is the amount of times the link in your profile was clicked on. Top Posts are the posts that have preformed best in the last week. Followers is the hour of day/day of week your followers are on Instagram.
Instagram shows top posts from the past 30 days sorted by highest impressions. Remember that if you just upgraded your account to the business account then the Top posts will only include statistics for new posts you post.
The demographic report is the most interesting. Under Followers reports; you find how many followers your account has and how many followers you gained in the past week.
Gender includes you are breakdown of the gender of your audience. Age range includes the ages of your audience which can split into men and women. Top locations indicated top cities or top countries where your audience comes from.
Under Followers time line graph you can see when your audience is most active. You can break this down by hours and by days.
